Description

The EyeSwim by Tropical Penguin was developed to enable you to use any waterproof camera in any pool. It helps you see what you are doing in the strokes.

You can use the Bottoms Up device in an organized practice or else when swimming on your own.

Various cameras work, including the Kodak Playsport, as an example.

The Bottoms Up allows you to view strokes from underneath. The EyeSwim allows you to have a view at or just below the surface.

Out of the bag, screw on the camera to the device. Hit the record button on the camera. Place the camera and the device on the bottom of the pool, pointing in the correct directions to capture a view of the swimmer.

Expect some extra video after hitting record button, while it is placed on the bottom and until the swimmer is captured on the video. You can edit that out later if you wish. Or, just fast forward to watch your stroke video.

Being able to aim the camera on the Bottoms Up is more of a critical factor than with the EyeSwim. If you aim the camera straight up in a shallow pool, you might see only a portion of your stoke. You can get a wide angle lense addition if that helps. Most people find success and prefer to angle the Bottoms Up either from the beginning of the lane at an angle toward the opposite wall to see stroke timing, hand and fit pitch. Or, place the camera around the middle of the pool and point to the front wall to see turns, starts and breakouts.

Principles: Video, View, Video again.

Swimming presents hundreds of angles from fingers to wrists to elbows to shoulders to core to head and hips, knees, ankles, and toes. The challenge and opportunity to improve is something to behold. With the proper tripod for the swim pool, see what you are doing. We recommend stoke examinations with good camera angles of strokes when fresh and when working specifically on stroke improvement, but also when fatigued, in the middle of hard training sets, and even racing.

The device was designed by a coach frustrated that the swimmers were not getting enough feedback. When a coach has 20 swimmers, the coach's time can be split into three-minute segments for each. Plus, coaches need to keep practices organized, safe and train endurance, power as well as teach and refine strokes. Once swimmers see themselves and learn the principles of swimming faster, the can improve at a rate that is dramatically faster.

Tropical Penguin aims to make great products that improve your world.

The turn views give good information on hand pitch.

The bottom view gives clear informational insights about hand, head, hip and foot positions as well as rotation and rhythm. Drag can be seen when caused by poor joint alighment or timing.
